I met with our Senator Tom Udall this week and was able to talk to his legislative assistant about education and STEM initiatives for the New Mexico.

I attended several meetings on educational policy and stem. In this picture I was able to answer some questions about my experience in DC as an Einstein Fellow. It took place in the Russell Bldg, room 325, where I'm told John F. Kennedy announced his candidacy for the presidency.

Saturday I attended a Roller Derby extravaganza at the DC Armory. We are posing with the DC Rollergirls team. Those without uniform are Einstein Fellows.

I attended Neil Armstrong's memorial service at the Washington National Cathedral. In the background you can see the 'space window' with a slice of of moon rock in its center. I shook hands with Buzz Aldrin, it was amazing!

Getting ready with some sprints and you should have seen my calisthenics, mostly walking from the parking lot a mile away. I was already tired by the time I got to start of the race. Parking in DC is a disaster. The race was too early for Metro and me.

Showing off our  spoils. With Chris Campbell, Einstein Fellow at NSF. Don't look too closely you might see the age division on my Geek trophy. The big trophy in the middle is for best team effort and spirit.

Just finished my first week at Goodard. Met really cool and friendly people and there are tons of projects going on. I was lucky to participate in a Museum Educators Workshop that took at Goddard's Visitor Center. Today we had a grand tour of the campus; it's amazing to be able to get behind the scenes. It was a great introduction for me to GSFC.  My sponsors and education director are very supportive of the fellowship and excited to work with me.
Take a look at the webcam, you'll see the cleanroom in building 29 where the mirror of James Webb Space Telescope are being assembled. I'll post some pictures in my face

I'm already missing NM!
After taking three days to travel from Las Cruces to Greenbelt, MD and more than 2,000 miles I couldn't resist going to the capitol bldg and find Po' Pay.  This was during orientation week and while on a scavenger hunt with other Fellows.
